Vacuum packaging is a modern technology for packing and preserving food products in vacuum packs.

Vacuum packs are made from a gas-impermeable material, and the packaging process consists of extracting the air from inside using a vacuum pump. This prevents the products from coming into contact with oxygen, which can trigger reactions that lead to product spoilage.
